Trish Crouse is the imaginative creator behind the beloved Barkside Detective Series and Pirate Pups Adventures. Her stories whisk readers into the heart of St. Augustine, Florida — the nation’s oldest city — where her real-life companions, Dahlia and Trixie, inspire every tail-wagging mystery and swashbuckling journey. Together with her husband Scott, Trish explores their historic hometown’s cobblestone streets, haunted lighthouses, and sunlit shores — each adventure sparking new tales filled with courage, friendship, and laughter.
More than just stories
When she’s not writing about her daring dog detectives or pirate pups, Trish and Scott dedicate their time to causes close to their hearts. They are passionate volunteers with Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue, advocating “adopt, don’t shop” and giving every animal a chance at a happy ending. They also proudly serve with the Seawolf Privateers, a nonprofit crew that supports foster and displaced children, bringing joy, hope, and a sense of belonging through community events and creative outreach.
